How to search your TikTok favorites (and find that one video)

TikTok Favorites has no real search. Here's how to find a video you saved months ago — and how to make every saved TikTok searchable by what was said.

You know you saved it. A TikTok about a budgeting trick, or that pasta, or the hidden beach in Portugal. Now you’re scrolling through hundreds of identical thumbnails in Favorites, trying to recognize it from a frozen first frame. Here’s every way to find a TikTok you saved, and how to make your favorites searchable for good.

Where TikTok keeps what you save

Favorites — Profile → bookmark icon. Everything you tapped the bookmark on.
Collections — folders inside Favorites, if you made any.
Liked videos — Profile → heart tab. Separate from Favorites.
Watch history — Settings and privacy → Activity center → Watch history. Useful if you watched it recently but didn’t save it.

Why you can’t just search your favorites

TikTok’s search is built for discovering new videos, not for finding ones you’ve saved. Favorites is a list of bookmarks — TikTok doesn’t index what was said in them, the text on screen, or even the captions in a way you can query. So a search for “hidden beach Portugal” will show you new videos, not the one you saved in March.

5 ways to find a TikTok in your favorites

1. Narrow it down with collections

If you filed it in a collection, start there — it’s a much shorter scroll. If you never used collections, this is a good moment to start (see 6 ways to organize saved TikToks).

2. Search the creator

If you remember who posted it, go to their profile and scroll their videos — often faster than scrolling your own Favorites, and you can search within some profiles.

3. Search TikTok with the words you remember

Regular TikTok search does look at captions and hashtags. If you remember a distinctive phrase from the caption, search it — the original sometimes comes up.

4. Check the chats you shared it in

If you sent it to someone, it’s still in that conversation, in TikTok DMs or another app.

5. Make your favorites searchable

Can you search your favorites on TikTok?

Not by what's in the videos. You can browse Favorites and the collections you've made, but there's no search that looks inside the videos you saved. To search by what was said or shown, the videos need to be transcribed — which is what Reelnest does for every TikTok you save.

Where are my favorites on TikTok?

How do I find a TikTok I liked but didn't save?
